The Police & My Right Foot!

Okay, what do The Police & my (Tammy's) foot have to do with each other?!?!?! Well........we (Michael & Tammy) went to The Police concert Wednesday night - Elvis Costello opened - it was fabulous. Sting rocks, Stewart Copeland can work the drums/percussion like no other & Andy Summers is an awsome guitarist. They played all the songs we rocked out to in the 80's and generally knocked our socks off! Wait, we were wearing flip flops - that part of the story will come back to haunt us later! Visions of MTV videos danced through our heads as they played Every Breath You Take - remember that one with all the candles? Yeah, way cool!

Alright, back to the flip flops and my right foot. At the end of the concert we were trying to leave Starplex (now Superpages.com Center) with 11,000 other people. Instead of taking the nice dry sidewalk, we decided to take a short cut down the damp hill, boy are we smart. As we were walking/sliding my (Tammy's) foot slipped in my flip flop & I heard & felt a "POP" "CRACK" "SNAP" I thought for a moment that I was in a rice krispies commercial & then I ralized what had happened. I broke my foot! AHHHHHHHHHH! After sitting down for a few moments, I know I had to get to the car. With the help of my faithful sidekick (Michael), I hobbled from the concert area to our car - what a grueling 15 minutes!!!!! Of course, Michael recently changed jobs and we are uninsured for approx 2 more weeks. AHHHHHHHH! Could the story get worse? Not really! I went home & waited till morning to go see a doctor - didn't want to wait at the emergency room or pay the huge bill. Got the foot x-rayed & heard just what was expected "Its broke!" 2 hours & $300 dollars later, they sent me home with a fashionable shoe & 2 gorgeous crutches. My second to the last metatarsal is broke & luckily the bones on either side make a natural splint - the doctor said that, I didn't feel so lucky about anything going on at that point :0)
