fevers and other things medical

Poor Connor. The little guy has to endure so many intrusions into his life by medical things. This morning he ran a 102.6 temperature so his doctor asked us to come in the office. My little baby cried when I told him we had an appointment. Who can blame him? This all pretty much sucks.

So, we went into the doctor's office, he visited with us, took a culture of some drainage in Connor's ear and sent us to the lab to have blood drawn for some more tests. Connor was looking forward to getting his PIC line out today but the doctor said he wanted to wait a few more days, just in case we to give him more IV meds or fluids. The labs couldn't be drawn from the PIC line so Connor had to get another stick in his right arm to draw his blood. Poor dude cried some more - he was resigned to all that was happening but he is so tired of it all. I wish I could just step in for him - it breaks my heart........

Now, for the good news. We are done with the round the clock medication so we can all sleep tonight, all night! Yahoo!!!! Also, when the doctor checked Connor's hearing nerve function it still appears to be working on the right side - just another confirmation that his hearing will be intact after they reconnect the hearing bones in a month or so.
