These little guys were older and able to hop around the yard, chirp and flutter about.
We did our research and did exactly as told, we put those babies right back up in the tree. Then, one dies, right up in the tree, waiting for the parents to feed it. When the last one dropped to the ground again and was being chased about by our cats & dog, I decided to save it. We've been feeding Tweety Bird since Thursday.
It seems to be doing very well. It eats soggy dog food, blueberries, strawberries and worms. We been feeding it with chopsticks. I fed it 50 mealworms on Friday and this morning Michael made a trip to the bait shop for some red wigglers. I can't beleive this baby bird can swallow a whole red wiggler. I'm not sure, but I think, it may be part pig!
So, this afternoon, we put it out back for a bit. The mother bird found it & fed it through the afternoon. Yahoo!!!! Our cats are stalking it & the dog is waiting patiently under the tree. I think we'll put it in the cage for the night & try letting it out again tomorrow. It would be nice if we could quit feeding it. Nature works better than we do!
