Lepidopteraphobia

Lepidopteraphobia is a fear of butterflies (and moths). Most of you might know that I've had an irrational fear of butterflies FOREVER!
They are creepy - especially their worm bodies. I can admit that their wings are pretty & at time beautiful BUT...what about those worm bodies & antennas?????? What do they really do with those feelers antenna thingies??? Why do they always fly so close to my face. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Most of you might also know that I love flowers & grow all kinds in my backyard. Well, my fear of butterflies & love of flowers haven't mixed well. My boys love butterflies - I have been able to keep my fear under raps. shhhhhhh Don't give me away. Well, I've been working on this phobia of mine & I really think I'm making progress.
The other day we spotted this huge butterfly in our backyard. The boys wanted me to take pictures of it so we could document it to put in our nature journal. I complied - I'll do almost anything for them.
I was pleasantly surprised. This butterfly isn't quite as creepy as most. Its bigger than my hand but check out its body - its yellow. The yellow body threw me off & I actually think I can appreciate his beauty. Just as long as he doesn't make for my face & eyes with those long wiggly feeler thingies!!!!
