We found an Emperor Hackberry Caterpillar in our yard a few days ago. After seraching the web, we identified him so, now we can feed him. He likes Hackberry leaves and didn't dig on the crepe myrtle and elm leaves we had given him. He's chowing down now & living large! The boys are planning to keep him and watch him pupate & evlove into a butterfly. We'll see how long it holds their interest before it gets turned loose. This caterpillar is very cool, or very weird, depending on your perspective........It turns it head all about to watch things. Cayden named it CatPillar. We're known for our original names around here!
