Family Past Times

We visited Old City Park this past Sunday for their family past times program. It was awesome!
The weather was perfect and we had a really fun time visiting all the old homes and learing more about our past. The saloon was open for the day so, we stopped in for some rootbeers & a quick game of checkers.
The train station was up and running. I tried to buy a ticket to New York but these ticket guys seemed a bit shady.......I never could get any information from them!
The park had some extra entertainment for the day, music throughout the park, an Irish storyteller and some dancing. The boys were amazed to see an icebox, an outhouse, a stove being cooked on with a real fire, houses without running water, and no air conditioning in any rooms. It was interesting to step back and look at life from another angle.
With hoops and sticks, I think, our family, could be entertained for an entire afternoon.
I think another day can be filled with hopscotch - good thing we've got plenty of sidewalk chalk.
