Michael and I got crazy the other night & made tamales. I have always heard that tamales are a long difficult undertaking so, I was a bit trepidacious. We bought all the ingredients - even the corn husk. We were going to do this right. Actually, after reading various recipes, I felt much more confident in our tamale making abilities. Maybe the version that include meat & eat products are difficult but our vegetarian tamales were simple.
We made a doughout of masa, refried some black beans and added in some cheese.
