best cookies EVER!!!!!

Made these sugar cookies today & they are, by far, the best I've ever made. The recipe included sour cream - that threw me but I went ahead & they are yummmmmmy! Here is the recipe for your baking pleasure. I whipped them up in about 20 minutes & was taking them to their destination after about 5 minutes of cooling. Hope you enjoy them too!

Old Fashioned Soft Sugar Cookies

Ingredients:

1/2 cup butter
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract - I used 2 teaspoons
3 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup sour cream
colored sugar sprinkles

1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees

2. cream butter to consistancy of mayonnaise. add sugar gradually, while continuing to cream.

3. add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. add vanilla, and beat until light and fluffy.

4. in a seperate bowl, mix and sift flour, salt, baking powder and baking soda.

5. add dry ingredients alternately with sour cream; beginning and ending with dry ingredients

6. drop by teaspoons or tablespoons depending on the size of cookie you want. sprinkle with colored sugar and bake for 10 minutes.
