Lemonade Company

The 2nd grade at the boys' school has a Lemonade Company each year. This year, Connor is in 2nd grade and has been preparing for their sales. He came home a few weeks ago talking all about the principles of supply and demand. A few days later he told me about the contract they created to secure funds for their supplies. The next day he told us about securing a loan and the interest rates if they pay the loan on time or late. Last week, the students created advertising posters & posted them around the school. Great great learning experiences! His teachers are simply awesome! This week, the 2nd graders are selling the lemonade.
Its cool, refreshing, yummy and only 25cents a cup!

I was able to help out yesterday with the afternoon sales. It was so much fun! The 2nd graders are so proud of themselves.
They take turns serving, pouring, taking money and tallying up the sales. Everyone has a job, everyone gets to participate and everyone gets a chance to miss a bit of class!!!

We had a mad rush and sold 168 cups in about 30 minutes. The student body all have their quarters ready! I saw some kiddos buying 4 cups - it is such a treat & they love it. The Lemonade Company will be selling for a few more days so bring your quarters!
