May is NF Awareness Month!

What is NF?

Neurofibromatosis encompasses a set of distinct genetic disorders that cause tumors to grow along various types of nerves and, in addition, can affect the development of non-nervous tissues such as bones and skin. Neurofibromatosis causes tumors to grow anywhere on or in the body.

Neurofibromatosis (NF) has been classified into three distinct types: NF1, NF2 and Schwannomatosis.

Our sweet Connor has NF2 and has been battling the effects since before he could walk. There is no cure. Treatment focuses on controlling the symptoms. Our son has lost vision and hearing on the right side and also has facial paralysis due to NF2. He will continue to face challenges, as will his family and friends as we support him. Life does not stop because of NF2 - Connor continues to thrive and live and bless our lives!

Please join me, if only for this month, in praying that a cure is found!
