Summer Daze

So, after a week of cub scout camp, I was ready for some down time. Some time lazing around the house. Hanging out, watching cartoons, laying on the couch time. Didn't happen! :0) I forgot for a moment about my two very active smart busy boys. Monday we had an appointment at Children's for Connor. We left our house around 9:15, got to Children's around 10 and left around 11:15. I had a vague plan in my head, I would take these guys to a park & let them run around. As I headed down 75, towards NW Hwy, I remembered the new In & Out Burger Michael told me about. It was close to lunch time. Only question was, "What would vegetarians eat at a burger joint?" Then I reminded myself - there are always french fries!
After seeing Uncle Randy wearing In & Out California TShirts for years, the boys were super excited to visit an In & Out. Wow! What a parking lot!!! It was packed! We drove around back for parking & were turned away by police officers saying "No more parking available!" Seriously?!?!?! Well, we talked it over & decided to park somewhere else & just walk in. These boys were not to be deterred!

We walked about 1/4 mile to get back to the parking lot and I didn't hear one single complaint. When we got to the door, we were told to head to the side & get in line. What? There was a line to get in the building. What a hoot! At least it was covered & shady.

Again, not a complaint from my boys as we waited in line. It really didn't take long, about 5 minutes and we were inside the famous In & Out!!! We were told to order a grilled cheese & so we did. I got one with lettuce, tomato & sauce. The boys got lettuce & sauce on the side. We shared an order of fries. It was yummy! We plan to go back some time soon & have lunch there with Daddy. Hopefully the hype will have worn off & we can park in the actual parking lot. Next time I'm getting fries, animal style! I'm told that means they come with cheese, grilled onions and sauce. Ooooh, sounds good!

After filling our tummies, we headed to the aforementioned park.

I chose Flag Pole Hill in hopes of finding some shade. It was actually fairly pleasant with the breeze coming over the hill.

We spent about an hour there, playing & walking about.

Connor even found a nice shady bench to do some Atlas reading.

It is so nice to be home with my boys during the summer.

I am blessed and they are way blessed too!

I love that last picture!

We had one open up here too and we haven't made it over there yet, but I really want to. I had In and Out once and remember liking it. That's hilarious yall parked so far away!! Now, that's an adventure!!

What a fun day. When the hype dies down I want to go also.

I have heard about the new In and Out Burger in Allen. I wanted to go next time I'm down there, but my Dad said that one is packed also. It sounds like the boys got some great exercise that day! I've never been to that park before...sounds like fun!!
