Remebering September 11th 2001

Where were you when you heard about the attacks on our country? I'm sure you remember. I do. We were in Albany, New York. I (Tammy) was working in the SUNY-Albany political science undergraduate office, working that morning as part of my grad school funding, and there happened to be a tv there that day. I watched with horror as the news showed the 2nd plane LIVE crashing into the building. I was shocked and stunned and horrified at the same time. Everything around me went silent and then the phones began ringing and kids came running in the office. The rest of the day was crazy with stories of families in the city and our own families calling us from Texas to make sure we were okay. Its hard to beleive that was 7 years ago. I cans till remember the feeling in the air all around campus as the news sunk in and kids fled home to their families. A massive blood drive was set up on campus and people waited in line to donate. It was a frightening time but also a strengthening time as people came together to help. Individuals from all walks of life, people from all countries of all races, beliefs and ages were affected that day and forever after. Lets practice peace, kindness and tolerance in memory of those affecetd by 9/11.

Please take a moment to remember those that were lost and those that lost people in the attacks on 9/11. http://www.cnn.com/SPECIALS/2001/memorial/

I was in band (Texas, of course) my senior year of high school, then in second period while we listened to the towers fall on the radio.

Let's do take time to remember, and let's also drink beer and go bowling because it's Tom's birthday. Poor dude!
