Getting car tags & new legislation

You meet the neatest and strangest people when you are in line at a government agency. There was a guy in front of me who kept talking to me about a $50 penalty he received from our city for overdue property taxes. He then went on to tell me that 6,000 residents received this penalty, and that next time they cheat him out of $50 he is going straight to the city council. What a tattle tale! Cry Baby! LOL Anyway, I proceeded to tell him that there are so many people who complain about the government and that when I went to vote on Saturday - around noon - there had only been 42 voters from our district. He replied "Oh, what election? What city do you live in?" I thought to myself, this guy is an ignorant!!!!!! I couldn't help it though, I let him on my little secret. "I live in Garland, same city you do. Apparently you didn't make it out to vote." He didn't talk to me after that. He may, in fact, be writing a blog about me and my self righteous attitude right now, or maybe he's off whining in line at the post office!

BTW, did you know that Texas law is changing and you will be required to have your voter's registration card AND a picture ID? If you don't have a picture ID you can always dig up 2 other forms of ID to go along with your voter's card. Ding dang! This seems so unfair! Half the time I can't locate my voter's registration card & my life in fairly tranquil. Think about all you scatter brained, moving from place to place, transient nutts - no more voting for you peeps. Disenfranchisement? At its best!

Lol! That's funny. I wonder why he didn't just pay his property taxes on time?

I guess I am one of those people who didn't show up though...I didn't know! We noticed that we missed the mayoral election after the fact and I asked him in all seriousness "Is the mayor really that important?" I thought you'd like that.
