More on our Dayton trip

We had such a good visit in Dayton 2 weeks ago. We got to see everyone one there, Gma, Uncle Ray, Aunt Sheri, Keri, Kayla, Brianna, Kristina and the sweet dog Gracie. We missed seeing our Marine - Julius -I think we actually missed him by a day. Couldn't wait to get back to Okinawa - yep, that's a joke!

We also saw Cayden's good friend Mr Brown.

Mr Brown has a large garden out behind Gma s' house & it is one of Cayden's favorite places to visit.

There is always something growing there and Cayden loves to pick & eat, right on the spot!

Even with all the cold weather, things are blooming and still growing! We picked apples, oranges, lemons, mustard greens, rutabagas, and even a few baby carrots.

We saw several bird nests. The boys were uber curious about what might be inside. They both attempted to get on their Daddy's shoulders for a look. Connor, who is normally afraid of heights, gathered the courage, and checked out the nest. To his disappointment their were no eggs. Maybe next time....

Another favorite place to visit is Uncle Ray's shop. Cayden gathered wood scraps to take back to his class - they used them to make sculptures SO CUTE! I couldn't catch a picture of Connor, he was too busy climbing wayyyyy up high to the 2nd level.

We got to spend lots of good time visiting with the boys' Great GG. They just love hanging out with her & couldn't wait for us to pick her up each day. She is such a sweetheart and we were so glad for a visit with her!

One minute we would be tromping around outside, and the next minute Connor would be running back for the house. He really loves being with his Great GG! He kept asking "Why can't we just live here?" I'm so glad they have family they can enjoy so much!

We know one thing for sure, when we do get back down there for a visit, the infamous purple cow will be waiting!!!!!

What special pics. You can see the joy in Mom's face. It touches my heart. I know she enjoyed having you all down there as much as you enjoyed the visit.
