February is African American History month. I am so glad our children are learning about our history and times past. While we have moved a million miles ahead, it is important that we never forget the past. As Connor sits here, reading stories of Rosa Parks and segregation with his homebound teacher, I experience many emotions. Anger at the ignorance of people in the past. Worry that the real world won't be kind to my child because he may be perceived as different. Embarrassment because his homebound teacher is African American. I am so glad that we are teaching our boys that we are ALL God's children and that no one person is better than another, regardless. We all sin, we all love and we all hurt.
“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” John 13:34-35
